WWK Wealth Advisors is Proud to Support the Dirty Scurry and Cook Children’s HospitalSubmitted by WWK Wealth Advisors on March 18th, 2013
The Dirty Scurry is a cool event for children. It combines, dirt, mud, water, physical activity with a dose of healthy competition to encourage an active lifestyle. The popularity of “adventure races” has been dominated by adult oriented races such as the Muddy Buddy and Warrior Dash. That’s great for adults, but kids like to get dirty too. The Dirty Scurry is all about kids, aged 5-14.
The Dirty Scurry was started three years ago by local fitness expert and entrepreneur Ron Green (PT Fitness). He started the race not for profit, but to encourage kids to adopt an active lifestyle and to support Cook Children‘s sports rehab, childhood obesity and life programs. In fact, 100% of entry fees and fundraising dollars go directly to Cook Children’s. Ron and his team of supporters have been able to put on the race using only volunteers that share his commitment to community and the great work that Cook Children’s does for kids.
In 2013 our firm, WWK Wealth Advisors, is celebrating its 10 year anniversary. To mark this event, WWK has committed to be a “neck-deep” sponsor of the Dirty Scurry as part of its effort to encourage our community’s children to adopt a healthy lifestyle. “it’s a natural fit for us” stated partner Lorna Kuether-Alvey, “a healthy lifestyle is a key ingredient to a rich life regardless of one’s age. Our clients want to make the most of the only life they have and we help them to achieve that”.
This year’s race will be held along Fort Worth’s Trinity Trail Uptown and will take place April 27th. If you have a kid that likes to get dirty and have fun you can sign them up at www.dirtyscurry.org. Don’t wait, the race is limited to 1500 participants and it will fill up early.
