Making Decisions in An Uncertain WorldSubmitted by WWK Wealth Advisors on May 6th, 2013
It is hard to make financial decisions these days. The world economy, well really the ENTIRE world, seems on such uncertain grounds. It is scary and can be very overwhelming. Whether you’re building your family’s financial nest egg, preparing to “retire” or trying to make the most of your retirement, all this uncertainty can cause you to avoid making decisions. The thing is though, you can’t let it paralyze you. Too much is at stake like well, your financial future. Not making decisions is a decision. One that overtime can dig you in a deeper hole or close doors to countless opportunities to improve the quality of your life. Life marches on and in order to make the most of it you have to act.
In past posts we’ve talked a lot about how to make prudent decisions in the face of all the uncertainties in the world. (see The Key to Making Good Financial Decisions or Six Things…). We think comes down to understanding what you want to accomplish, surrounding yourself with wise people and focusing on making lots of small decisions prudently. That’s it. You could even argue that is the secret to living an epic life.
Yesterday, Josh Shipp, released his message to 2013 graduates. Basically, his “cool” commencement speech. Josh, is a coach of sorts to teenagers and his hip and edgy style connects with them. His message is one that teens need to hear and I encourage you to share it with any young person you know. But that’s not the reason I am posting it here. I am posting because I think YOU should listen to it. Listen as if he is speaking to you and your situation. Think how you can use it to help you make proactive decisions in this very uncertain world. You may connect with it and begin to focus on making all the small wise decisions that can make a wonderful life.
